The body

The body

Yellowed bones

My teeth

Were a little

Splotched

Fucked up

On that day

The Orthodontist’s office

Left

Yellowed bones

Stained by

The ugly power

Of words

I was told

Could not

Hurt

Like sticks

Or stones

Now exposed

A failed persuasion

To convince myself

It would be

Okay

I said

To frowning

Face

“It will be

Okay,

I never smile

Anyway”

Hidden

Forgotten attic

My yellowed bones

Once reminded me

Of only the pain

I chewed

On

Years of

Spitting shame

Out

Swallowing pride

In

Salivating no longer

Smile

I learned

Is not a death

But a seed

Oh yellowed bone

You’ll be

My proof

Stained

You, yellowed bone

I’ll carry

Like you have

Carried me

To another type

Of exposure:

Honesty

Olfactory

Manicured gardens

Of inconsistent plants

Leave muddy trails

In the sky

That drive our noses

Confused-like

Animals

Remaining forests

Lead us home

By their smell

Ancient receptors

Long not triggered

Of relationships

Trampled

Diamond bodies

What happened to love

Of blank stares on barren landscapes

Of hovering energy forces

And caverns cut into my soul

Not a wound; a portal

My mouth a piece

From another world

Pulling sounds into harsh air

My body a diamond

That resists breaking

Forged from pressure

Mines exploding everywhere

[*X*X*X*X*X*]

In your story bombs

You dropped on the world

You wrote us as a bombed nation

Then committed abominations

You celebrated your blood-stained hands

Your inability to fathom life

Your demand to cut a branch

From humanity’s tree

And then you spoke of sin

Of me

With your trimmers in hand

And destiny in your eyes

[*X*X*X*X*X*]

Diamond bodies

Forged from pressure

Unspectacular

Mines exploding everywhere

Body (Endless)

Losing my will to live

my body feels tired
i get up from my bed
look across to the mirror
in front of me
my eyes like lakes
im drowning
but i feel like ive done
everything i could
and still nothing
at the same time
tell me, mother
is it my time
or is my body just
shedding new skin

Body (endless)

Body laying down
But still
Isolated from the wind
Body typing
Body thinking
Body wondering what to do
Say next
Body reminiscing
Body purging
Thoughts toxic to itself
Body seeking unknown
Body listening
Trying to hear
Body speaking
Body lurching forward
For some grasp of understanding
Body understanding
A voice translation
Utilitarian purpose
Body speaking through life
Unfiltered
Filtering words
Thoughts expressions
Aimless fleeting
Unspoken held captive
Body struggling to move
Its limbs heavy
Like boulders
Weighted objects
Oilless
Body forgetting
Not to think
Body focusing
Fixations troubling
Its tomorrow
Body thrusting force
Feeding itself dirt
Mushrooms rocks fallen
Split fabrics grown
Oscillating between life
And thinking death
Constantly body
Constant body
Transgressing speech
Soundless performance
Murmuring body
Unworried about sense
Rational expression
So unique
So craving
What is not
Body not
Speaking
Not holding
Itself up
Any longer body
Tragic oh body
Twisted god body
Usurping
Its hegemony
Body its solace
Body its gumption
Will to move
Will to ponder
To yearn
To stretch
Thin and thick
Body movement
Yonder wild
Body in bushes
Trees and lakes
Streams
Body water
Oceans and tidepools
Fish and urchins
Particulates
Body scuttling
Crabs and sea snails
Transforming body
Body hovering
Over other worlds
Between sky and seafloor
Body buried
Back in touch
With nails
Dug into soil
Body sprung
Body grave
Home body
Quiet body
Still body
Decaying body
Flesh breaking body
Body eaten body
No more body
Body undone
Body remaking
Body recreating
Body universe
Body galaxy
Body star
Body dust
It is body
Body full
Of bodies
Full body
Endless
Bodies
