Submissions Open: Social Expectations

AZE issue theme: Social expectations

Call for submissions: AZE is accepting writing and artwork by asexual, aromantic, and agender authors exploring the subject of social expectations. Submissions may address the following questions:

  • How has your experience as an asexual, aromantic, and/or agender person differed from society’s expectations?

  • How do society’s expectations about sexuality, romance, gender, attraction, intimacy, race, body image, ethnicity, religion, and disability, intersect and relate with your lived experience?

  • How can social expectations be changed so that asexual, aromantic, and agender experiences are included, considered, or understood?

  • How have social expectations about sexuality, romance, gender, attraction, and intimacy been formed historically and how has this affected how the human experience is understood?
