Resent Us, The Government™ Says

Hello, I’m from The Government™, where we are still stuck in our imperialist era.   

As you may have noticed recently, the world has gone a bit loud. Uncivilized. Kinda. A lot. How will we pass on the art of silencing minority voices to the next generation?

So back in the age of Western civilization, we introduced the nuclear family, your traditional choice of familial structure. 

This consists of the following: the working father, (a.k.a the representative of the family), housekeeping and children-rearing mother, and the children themselves.

Aww, aren't they sweet? Completely fitting with our nuclear family structure too!

Because nothing says colonialism like a packaged unit sorted into the gender binary haphazardly glued with ~love~.

Unfortunately, some of you have been starting to see through the lies recently. And here in the Government™, we saw these loveless people, and we got scared. 

Horrified! OuT oF oUr WiTs - with frazzled hair, panting in panic at these bArBaRiAnS who Dare to defy our Completely Unrealistic Standards! 

Until we realized we could use our privilege and our high social status to establish the nuclear family as the norm. We were so generous, we also exported the nuclear family to our colonies to colonize their perception of humanity! Then have the wider society guilt trip you by something that you lack. Influencers! 

It is almost like most people have been happily oblivious of what is basically propaganda for centuries! And if they call it out? We peer pressure and shame them into submission! Influenzas!

Now you may be thinking, “if we’re on our knees with money-hungry pigs in charge causing rampant climate change, injustice, climate injustice, wars, poverty, genocide, not conforming to colonialist family structures to bring life to this tumor of a world is quite responsible!” 

But are we going to fix the problematic message? Absolutely not! Why do all that when we could go with the easy option and continue with our fine tradition of compliance with archaic standards? 

So when your wallet gets tight with the upcoming Singles Tax, thank (and resent) us for putting the funds for our mate’s latest stag and hen do over you.
